The Institute of Aikido Australia holds gradings four times a year in March, June, September and December.

Instructors will inform students when they are eligible to grade. Students must then confirm that they are willing to grade and pay a grading fee of $40. Fee payment is a compulsorary pre-requisite to grading.

There are ten kyu grades, as outlined in the Adult | Juniors grading syllabus. The grading syllabus is intended to inform students which skills they are required to master before their grading. Instruction will be provided in English.

Dan gradings will be held once a year in June. New students should read the section in the syllabus on dojo etiquette.
