Membership & Registration

Membership is compulsory and gradings can only be taken if a student is a member of the Institute of Aikido Australia. However, all students - no matter what style - are always warmly welcomed to visit and train at the Institute of Aikido Australia.

Annual membership of the Institute of Aikido Australia:
Adults: $50 
Children: $30 for the 1st child, $20 for additional children from the same family [ info sheet (190kb) ]

Annual membership is payable to the Institute of Aikido on commencement of training, and there after at the beginning of each calendar year. Training fees are payable directly to the Subiaco or Scarborough PCYC. For information about training fees at the Bridgetown dojo, please contact  Michael Hoar (0408 011 667).  

Biannual training fees payable to the Subiaco / Scarborough PCYC:
Adults: $120 per half-year / $30 monthly
Children: $40 per school term

Students are provided with a membership booklet to store their membership and grading details. A CD demonstrating forms 1-4 is provided to assist students in their aikido learning. Planned future CDs will display form 5-18 and also include weapons, randori and ki developed techniques.
 

Training Timetables

There are five training sessions available per week, with one children's class held on Saturdays. All students are required to be in attendance ten minutes before class starts.

Subiaco Dojo - Adults
Saturday

2pm - 4pm

Tuesday 6pm - 8pm
Thursday 7.30pm - 9pm
 
Subiaco Dojo - Children:
Saturday

12.30pm - 2pm


Scarborough Dojo - Adults
Monday

7.30pm - 9pm

Wednesday 7.30pm - 9pm
 
Bridgetown Dojo - Adults
Tuesday

6pm - 8pm

Saturday Once a month

 

 

Because, it relies on technique and not strength, aikido is an excellent martial art for women and children to practice.
